Today, our Kinder class had an exciting baking session, and the kids were thrilled to make cookies! Upon arriving at the cooking studio, they were greeted warmly by the instructors and began by putting on their aprons and washing their hands—an important step to ensure a clean and safe cooking experience.
The session kicked off with an introduction to the ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and oil. The children were eager to learn about how these ingredients combine to create delicious cookies. The process started with adding oil to a mixing bowl, followed by placing cocoa powder and flour into a bag to mix thoroughly. The mixture was then transferred into the bowl, where the kids took turns stirring it with oil to form the dough. They were fascinated to see the dough transform, with one of our K3 students exclaiming, “It’s a cookie dough!”
The children then gathered around a large table, each receiving a small portion of dough to shape into their unique cookies. Guided by the instructors, they learned to use cookie cutters and were encouraged to get creative, crafting various shapes and faces with the dough. It was wonderful to see their imagination come to life.
While waiting for the cookies to bake, the kids decorated paper bags with a festive Christmas theme to carry their cookies home. The activity was accompanied by a storybook reading session, adding a touch of calm and fun to the wait.
Finally, our cookies were ready! We ate one cookie at the cooking studio, and everyone said it was really yummy!
It was a delightful day filled with learning, creativity, and laughter—a memorable experience for our young bakers!
