This week, our K1 class began their exciting journey into writing by learning how to form the letter ‘S’. As the first letter introduced in the Jolly Phonics program, ‘S’ is a great starting point for developing early literacy skills.
今週、K1クラスの子どもたちは、「S」の書き方を学びながら、書く力を育てる旅の第一歩を踏み出しました。「S」はジョリーフォニックスのプログラムで最初に学ぶ文字であり、初期リテラシーのスキルを身につけるうえで最適なスタートです。
To support letter recognition and proper letter formation, we used a variety of hands-on activities. Children started by tracing the letter ‘S’ in the air with their fingers, which helped them understand the motion. Next, they practiced writing the letter with crayons, focusing on gentle pencil grips and correct posture.
まず、指で空中に「S」をなぞる練習から始め、文字の動きを体で覚えました。その後、クレヨンを使って紙に「S」を書いてみました。正しい持ち方と良い姿勢を意識しながら、無理のない筆圧で丁寧に書く練習を行いました。
We made learning fun with songs and movement-based activities, helping children connect phonics sounds to the letters they write. Our key message throughout the session was: “Take your time.” This helped the children feel confident and encouraged to write with care.
また、歌や体を動かすアクティビティを取り入れ、文字と音の結びつきを楽しく学びました。今回の大切なメッセージは、「ゆっくり丁寧にやってみよう」です。このメッセージが子どもたちの自信につながり、自分の成長を誇りに思う姿が見られました。
It was wonderful to see how proud they were of their progress. This early writing experience helped build their fine motor skills, concentration, and self-confidence.
このライティング活動を通じて、子どもたちは運筆力（ファインモータースキル）や集中力、そして自己肯定感を高めています。
