Today, we hosted our strawberry picking event. We had many families come with their kids to enjoy as many fresh, juicy strawberries as they could eat. Many families from Beyondia came today, but we were also joined by some new faces wanting to join in on the fun.
今日はいちご狩りイベントを開催しました！たくさんのご家族が参加してくださり、新鮮で甘いいちごを思う存分楽しんでいただきました。スクールからのご家族も多かったですが、新しく参加してくれた方々もいて、みんなで素敵な時間を過ごしました。
When the families arrived, they were ushered into the large, styrofoam dome in Loco Door. Once inside, we began the event. We started with a small introduction of all the teachers and the two facilitators from the greenhouses. We then sang our Hello Song before reading the story: The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Hungry Bear. The kids really enjoyed the story, even if some of the parts were a little scary.
到着後、まずは Loco Door 様のの大きなドームへ移動し、イベントがスタートしました！最初に先生たちとファシリテーター 2 名を紹介し、その後、みんなで「Hello Song」を歌いました。そして、絵本『 The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Hungry Bear.』の読み聞かせ。子どもたちは夢中で聞いてくれました！ちょっぴりドキドキする場面もあったけれど、最後まで楽しんでくれたようです。
It was then time for the craft. The kids were all given three different coloured strawberries, some crayons, and crepe paper. They were asked to add the seeds and leaves to the strawberries, put them into a plastic bag with the paper and the mouse from the story. The bag was then sealed with tape and hung from the kids shoulders. We had a lot of very, pretty sensory bags by the end.
次はクラフトタイム！子どもたちは 3 色のいちごの紙とクレヨン、お花紙を使って、いちごの種や葉を描いたり貼ったりしました。その後、絵本に出てきたねずみと一緒に袋に入れ、テープで封をして肩から下げられるバッグを作成しました。カラフルで可愛い感触遊び用のバッグができました！
We then had to go over some important rules. The families were all asked to be kind to the bees who were buzzing around. They were reassured that the bees wouldn’t sting them unless they felt threatened. They were also told how to properly pick strawberries that wouldn’t damage the plant. From there, we headed to the greenhouse.
続いていちご狩りのルールを説明しました。温室にはミツバチがいるので、優しく見守ってあげること。ミツバチは怖がらせなければ刺さないので、安心してくださいね！それから、いちごの株を傷つけずに上手に摘み取る方法をお伝えし、いよいよ温室へ向かいました。
The families could smell the strawberries from the door of the greenhouse. Everyone was reminded of the rules one more time before being set loose amongst the strawberries. Everyone had thirty minutes to eat as many strawberries as the could. We were amazed at how many of them the kids were able to eat. In the end, we took a big, group photo and headed to the main gate.
温室に入る前から、甘いいちごの香りがふんわり・・・。もう一度ルールを確認して、いちご狩りスタート！30 分の間、子どもたちはびっくりするくらいたくさんのいちごを食べていました。
It was a fun day for everyone involved and we are very thankful to everyone for coming and spending the day with us.
